Overview
Ohrid City Tour or “Jerusalem of the Balkans” is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the number of Byzantine Churches located in the town.
Ohrid is certainly the most suggestive location in the whole state of Northern Macedonia and one of the most beautiful in the Balkans. The city stands on the eastern shore of the lake that has the same name. It is one of the oldest lakes in Europe and certainly one of the clearest. Despite the many villages villages around the shore, the water is as transparent and as fine glass. By the way it is one of the few cases where it is both natural and cultural heritage. In addition to the clear waters, Ohrid is famous for the number of Byzantine churches: originally there were 365, one for each day of the year. For this reason it was known as the Jerusalem of the Balkans
