Albania Classic Tour is the choice to visit a country which is in the Western Balkans. It shares the borders with Montenegro and Kosovo in the North, Greece in the South and furthermore North Macedonia in the East and Italy on the West. Due to a totalitarian regime in the past, the country closed to hippies and west looking alike people for decades. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, Albania changes its course. In addition, a lot of efforts are made to transform the economy of the country. Tourism became the priority.

Day 1. Tirana
The Guide will wait for you at the airport. Following the transfer to the hotel and some time for refreshment. We will meet again in the evening and i will do a short presentation of the tour. After the presentation we will visit the capital. This will Include the Pyramid of Tirana, the Central Square and its most representative buildings. In conclusion we will head towards the Blloku district because this area is known to be the most lively part of Tirana.

Day 2. Kruje & Shkoder
The Guide will meet you in the lobby. Following a short presentation of the day and the transfer to Kruje. The visit of Kruje will start at the Old Bazaar as this is the historic part of the town and it still thrives in economic activities. We visit inside one of the crafts for instance or spend some time to look around at the many shops. Furthermore, we continue to the Castle. Here we will know more about Albania’s National Hero. Following that, we visit an Ottoman house of the 18th Century. After the visit of Kruje, on the way to Shkoder, we will stop to an amazing Slow – Food restaurant. Following that, we visit Shkoder and its romantic alleys. In addition, we can visit also the Castle of Rozafa. Nonetheless we chouldn’t miss the incredible views from its towers. Concluding the day with the overnight in Shkoder.

Day 3. Berat UNESCO
We start the day with a transfer to Berat. This town is one of the oldest in Albania and counts more than 2200 years. Furthermore, the lower part is a UNESCO historical site due to its remarkable architectural features. Besides, in the upper part, we will find a great collection of Byzantine Art. Also, the views from the towers of the upper Berat are amazing. Particularly today we have the possibility to visit one of the last castles of Europe in which there is still life inside. In conclusion evening free to enjoy ourselves with a Wine Degustation in one of the local wine yards.

Day 4. Gjirokaster UNESCO
Gjirokaster is another remarkable example of Ottoman Architecture and not only! Around the city many archeological sites are located. I can identify Hadrianopolis and Antigonea. It should be noted that this little town is the birthplace of many Albanian influential personalities as well. In addition, I can mention the Nobel Candidate Writer Ismail Kadare and the dictator of Albania for 45 years, Enver Hoxha. In this town we visit the historic part and the castle. The evening follows with a visit in a local house where we will experience the local traditions.

Day 5. Sarande & Butrint UNESCO
Albania abounds in natural and historical sites. Moreover, on the way to Sarande, we visit a natural wonder such as the Blue Eye. This site, is about a natural park and its many springs. The most beatiful spring is surrounded by mystery and legends on its powers and crystalline waters. Besides, the second part of the day will be in the lost city of Butros aka Butrinti. Definitely the most important UNESCO site in Albania. On the way we visit the oldest Curch in Albania, namely Saint Nicholas Church. In conclusion free evening in the coastal town of Sarande.

Day 6. Llogara & Vlora
A super scenic drive through mountains, hills filled with secular olive trees and spectacular views of the Ionian Sea. We will make many stops on the way. Visit to Porto Palermo, a triangular fortress located on the top of a small peninsula surrounded by an incredible bay. We will stop and explore the villages of Himare and Vuno. Hence going up to 1200 m above the sea level. Also we visit Vlore, the city where the Albanians proclaimed independence from the Ottoman Empire. As well, the ancient Aulona was an important city in the Roman period. Today the city is bustling as a lively touristic destination both for nationals and internationals.

Day 7. Apollonia & Durres
Visit in the Monastery of Zvernec. Later we will head to Apollonia, an ancient city that ceased life somewhere in the early medieval age. At its peak, the city was an example of perfectly functional Democracy. The next stop will be Durres, the Rome of the Balkans. We will visit the Old Byzantine Walls and the Roman Amphitheater of the 2nd Century. Evening transfer to Tirana.

Day 8. End of the Tour
Explore some more from the surroundings of the capital along with a visit to Dajti National Park. In order to get to the top, we will take the panoramic cable car. Following a small hiking to enjoy the views and the nature. Alternatively, free time for shopping activities and lunch. Transfer to the airport or hotel.
