Albania North Macedonia Tour is a a trip for food and wine lovers. Without a doubt, Albania is very rich in archeological sites. Moreover in North Macedonia there is a well established culinary tradition.
Differently from Albania, North Macedonia has a well known quality of wine. In addition, during the trip, i am going to provide informations and suggestions on the best dishes and wines to taste. Beside the visits, during the trip we will structure two visits in local families.

Day 1. Tirana
The guide will wait for you at the airport. Following the transfer to the hotel and some time for refreshment. We will meet again in the evening and we will visit the capital. This will Include the Pyramid of Tirana, the Central Square and its most representative buildings. In conclusion we will head towards the Blloku district because this area is the most lively part of Tirana.

Day 2. Apollonia & Vlora
The day starts with the transfer to Apollonia. As we know this ancient city ceased life somewhere in the early medieval age. Also, at its peak, the city was an example of perfectly functional Democracy. Following the visit in the monumental part and a museum. In the evening, transfer to Vlore. This is the city where the Albanians proclaimed independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1912. Today the city is bustling as a lively touristic destination both for nationals and internationals.

Day 3. Llogara Park & Butrint UNESCO
The morning starts with a super scenic drive through mountains and hills filled with secular olive trees and spectacular views of the Ionian Sea. Hence going up to 1200 m above the sea level. Also we visit Butrinti, an important archeological site. Definitely the most important UNESCO site in Albania. Moreover, Hellenistic, Roman and Venetian remains decorate the whole park. In conclusion free evening in the coastal town of Sarande.

Day 4. Blue Eye & Gjirokaster UNESCO
We visit a natural wonder such as the Blue Eye. This site, is about a natural park and its many springs. The most beatiful spring is surrounded by mystery and legends on its powers and crystalline waters. Besides, the second part of the day will be in the UNESCO city of Gjirokaster. This city is another remarkable example of Ottoman Architecture and not only! It should be noted that this little town is the birthplace of many Albanian influential personalities as well. In addition, I can mention the Nobel Candidate Writer Ismail Kadare and the dictator of Albania for 45 years, Enver Hoxha. In this town we visit the historic part and the castle.Highlights:

Day 5. Berat UNESCO
Today we start the day with a transfer to Berat. This town is one of the oldest in Albania and counts more than 2200 years. Furthermore, the lower part is a UNESCO historical site due to its remarkable architecture features. Besides, in the upper part, we will find a great collection of Byzantine Art. Also, the views from the towers of the upper Berat are amazing. Particularly today we have the possibility to visit one of the last castles of Europe in which there is still life inside. In conclusion evening free to enjoy on ourselves.

Day 6.Ohrid UNESCO
The morning starts with the transfer to Ohrid. In addition, this little pearl is built at the shores of the oldest lake of Europe. Furthermore, the lake has a surface of 90 Km 2 and represents a unique ecosystem. We visit the town and have some time to experience on our own the welcoming atmosphere.

Day 7. Ohrid & surroundings
Visit in the Winery of Popova Kula. This family run business has made a very good name. Also, we will have a wine tour following the taste of four wines. Furthermore we will have a panoramic drive through the Galicica Natural Park. Astonishing views of the Lake Prespa and Lake Ohrid from the top. In conclusion, evening back in Ohrid.

Day 8. Skopje
Skopje is the most ecentric capital of the Balkans. Furthermore, the city is bustling in monuments and all sorts of museums. The Vardar River, in addition, the longest river in North Macedonia defines the old and the new part of this city. Also, the old part, abounds in Ottoman architecture but the new one in Neo Classical one. Either you like it or not, Skopje promises fun, fun, fun!

Day 9. Matka Canyon
Today’s options are either a visit to the Canyon of Matka or to Panteleimon Monastery. End of our program.
