Albania Kosovo Tour is a a trip for History & Archeology passionates. Without a doubt, Albania is very rich in archeological sites. Moreover, Kosovo has an interesting and complicated history. Also, the 90 – s and the violent events that followed, gave as result the separation of Kosovo from Yugoslavia.

Day 1. Tirana
The Guide will wait for you at the airport. Following the transfer to the hotel and some time for refreshment. We will meet again in the evening and i will do a short presentation of the tour. After the presentation we will visit the capital. This will Include the Pyramid of Tirana, the Central Square and its most representative buildings. In conclusion we will head towards the Blloku district. This area is the most lively part of Tirana.

Day 2. Apollonia & Berat UNESCO
Meet the guide in the lobby. Following, we head to Apollonia which ceased life somewhere in the early medieval age. At its peak, the city was an example of perfectly functional Democracy. After we head to Berat. The town is one of the oldest in Albania and counts more than 2200 years. Furthermore, the lower part is a UNESCO historical site due to its remarkable architecture features. Besides, the views from the towers of the upper Berat are amazing. Particularly today we visit one of the last castles of Europe in which there is still life inside. In conclusion evening free to enjoy on ourselves.

Day 3. Gjirokaster UNESCO
Gjirokaster is another remarkable example of Ottoman Architecture. Around the city many archeological sites are located. I can mention Hadrianopolis and Antigonea. This little town is the birthplace of many Albanian influential personalities as well. In addition, I can mention the Nobel Candidate Writer Ismail Kadare and the dictator of Albania for 45 years, Enver Hoxha. In this town we visit the historic part and the castle. The evening follows with a visit to a local house for the traditional coffee in stone ceremony.

Day 4. Blue Eye & Butrinti UNESCO
Albania abounds on natural and historical sites. Moreover, on the way to Sarande, we visit a natural wonder such as the Blue Eye. This site, is about a natural park and its many springs. The most beatiful spring is surrounded by mystery and legends on its powers and crystalline waters. Besides, the second part of the day will be in the lost city of Butros aka Butrinti. Definitely the most important UNESCO site in Albania. Above all, its location which is inside a forest and in between a lake, a river and the Ionian Sea, offers astonishing views. Moreover, Hellenistic, Roman and Venetian remains decorate the whole park. Absolutely it is an amazing archeological site to explore. In conclusion free evening in the coastal town of Sarande.

Day 5. Llogara Park & Vlore
A super scenic drive through mountains, hills filled with secular olive trees and spectacular views of the Ionian Sea. We will make many stops on the way. Visit to Porto Palermo, a triangular fortress located on the top of a small peninsula surrounded by an incredible bay. We will stop and explore the villages of Himare and Vuno. Hence going up to 1200 m above the sea level. Also we visit Vlore, the city where the Albanians proclaimed independence from the Ottoman Empire. As well, the ancient Aulona was an important city in the Roman period. Today the city is bustling as a lively touristic destination both for nationals and internationals.

Day 6. Durres and Kruje
The morning starts with a transfer to Durres. Moreover, we explore the rests of the biggest Amphitheater in the Balkans. Later it follows with the visit of Kruje. In this town we see the Old Bazaar as this is the historic part of the town and it still thrives in economic activities. We visit inside one of the crafts for instance or spend some time to look around at the many shops. Furthermore, we continue to the Castle. Here we will know more about Albania’s National Hero. Following that, we visit an Ottoman house of the 18th Century. To conlude our visit of Kruje, we will drive to the top of the mountain to enjoy some breath taking views and visit an interesting shrine located at the top of it. In coclusion, in the vening we had back to Tirane.

Day 7. Prizren UNESCO
Today we go to Kosovo. After crossing the border we will stop in Prizren. Furthermore, the small town is famous for the lively lifestyle, restaurants and bars. Following, we will visit the town and its museums. Evening is free to enjoy.

Day 8. Decani UNESCO & Peje
Kosovo abounds in natural and historical sites. Moreover, today we visit a UNESCO site located in Decani. Also, this monastery has remarkable features and amazing paintings. Evening and overnight in the high-mountains of Boge.

Day 9. Prishtina
Today we will drive to Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo. In the city we visit the city center and the Saint Teresa Cathedral. Free time.
